Welcome to 1001 Classic Short Stories and Tales Audio Podcast!  This is a hand-picked collection of favorites from writers like Jack London, Louisa May Alcott, Hans Christian Anderson, Edgar Allen Poe, Rudyard Kipling, and many more. I narrate the stories and often add background music and sound effects to bring the stories to life. These are suitable for the entire family, enjoyed by all ages and levels of literary experience, and often make great discussion starters for students who are just getting exposed to literature.

This AD FREE episode is one of our most popular JACK LONDON stories, most of which are now in our PREMIUM ARCHIVES, which are entirely AD FREE and remastered for your listening enjoyment. Over 200 of our 1001 episode archives will available on our subscription apps at www.1001storiespodcast.com, beginning February 2018. New and free episodes will continue at both 1001 Heroes, Legends, Histories & Mysteries and 1001 Classic Short Stories & Tales but subscription app fans will get bonus new shows plus access to all our remastered and ad-free archives. This Jack London story deals with a boxer named Tom King, who is at the end of his career, and lacks enough money to feed himself and his family before a big fight. The fight will pit his experience against his opponents youth and stamina- and is an excellent story from Jack London, who managed fights during his stay in the Yukon. #1001 Classic Short Stories #Jack London #History
