This is the story of the great war that Rikki-Tikki-Tavi fought single-handed, through tha bathrooms of the big bungalow in Segowlee cantonment, in India. Darzee, the Tailorbird, helped him, and Chuchundra, the musk-rat, gave him advice, but Rikki-Tikki-Tavi did the real fighting. This story of courage and duty, told from the point of view of a mongoose, is one of many wonderful stories penned by British author Rudyard Kipling, whose life was a story in in itself, taking him all around the world, beginning with his young life in India, then England, then the U.S, where he wrote The Jungle Book and other stories. For his many contributions, Kipling was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in 1907.   Listen to 1001 Classic Short Stories at http://www.storytellerfam.libsyn.com  1001 Heroes website and THE STORYTELLERS   WWW. 1001storiespodcast.com
