Welcome to 1001 Classic Short Stories and Tales Audio Podcast!  This is a hand-picked collection of favorites from writers like Jack London, Louisa May Alcott, Hans Christian Anderson, Edgar Allen Poe, Rudyard Kipling, and many more. I narrate the stories and often add background music and sound effects to bring the stories to life. These are suitable for the entire family, enjoyed by all ages and levels of literary experience, and often make great discussion starters for students who are just getting exposed to literature.

1001 now has an App! It is "1001 STORIES NETWORK" and it is now at the IOS Apple App Store, just search it. It will be at Android App Store and Amazon App store very soon. It is free. It combines all 3 of our shows, 1001 Heroes, 1001 Classic Short Stories, and 1001 Stories For the Road. It also offers a Premium Membership offering access to all shows, and all shows are ad-free.

This old Indian tale, retold by author James Buckham, is an example of the fact that sometimes acts of random kindness are repaid in ways bigger than we could ever imagine. Recommended for all ages. 1001 Classic Short Stories & Tales can be found at iTunes Podcast app (search 1001 Classic), at www.podbay.fm (for Android users), and for those who do not want to download the free apps, at our website at www.1001storiespodcast.com, in the upper right corner. We share this website with our sister podcast, 1001 Heroes, Legends, Histories & Mysteries, which is also family-friendly, but contains longer episodes and fewer classic authors.
